SOS Children's Village inauguration: Corrugated board children conquer HafenCity in Hamburg

Extraordinary opening ceremony in Hamburg's HafenCity: 1,000 life-size, green children's figures made of corrugated board, provided by the Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik, symbolized the opening ceremony of an unusual SOS Children's Village in Hamburg-Dulsberg in August. Due to the pandemic, the likeable displays, punched with precise contours and implemented in the perfect color, symbolized the future of the facility and the families living there, the guests, initiators and supporters. Because a "classic" celebration was not possible due to the applicable rules. The cheering children's figures were the inspiration for the number of guests that the SOS Family Center Dulsberg expects each month. The village with the name "Harbour for Families" was inaugurated with the corrugated board figures and the first families have now moved in.
