Award for Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik - Selected as TOP training company 2018

Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG in Wustermark (Panther Group) is one of the award winners of the "TOP Training Company 2018" award announced by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in the Potsdam district.

A jury of vocational training officers from the honorary and full-time offices of the Potsdam Chamber of Industry and Commerce deliberated on the applications from more than 6,000 member companies and selected a total of six companies from the district. In mid-August, the President of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Peter Heydenbluth, and other representatives from politics and business honored the award winners. The main reason the jury gave for recognizing Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik was the company's long-standing and successful commitment to promoting young talent, which manifests itself, among other things, in a training quota that now stands at 11 percent of the workforce. The Panther Group's plant in Wustermark is the only packaging manufacturer and corrugated board processor among the companies currently honored.

The high importance of training for the region is also reflected in the participation of well-known officials in the official certificate and trophy presentation ceremony at Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik. Those responsible from the company side were very pleased at the ceremony and were confirmed in their long-term strategy of promoting young talent: For the Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik, as for all other plants of the Panther Group, sound training designed for a successful professional life is of essential value. Thus, numerous young people at the Panther Group have laid the foundation for an interesting, future-oriented professional development. They work, among other things,  as packaging technologists, paper or media technologists for printing, electronics or mechatronics technicians, industrial electricians or mechanics, or as machine and plant operators, warehouse logistics specialists and warehouse clerks, or in commercial professions.

In addition, the Panther companies offer the possibility of dual and trial studies. Many former Panther trainees have also studied part-time following their training and subsequently taken the opportunity of further employment within the Panther Group.

The companies Panther Display and Panther Print, which are also located in Wustermark, are important training companies for the region, with 50 trainees currently undergoing their training. In the entire Panther Group, there are 132 throughout Germany; in all three plants, further interested parties are being sought for 2019.
