Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik with further state-of-the-art investments

Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, based in Tornesch (near Hamburg), will continue to invest in productivity and capacity after investing in an additional rotary die cutter at the end of 2020.

In the spring of 2021, the entire finished goods palletizer will be replaced. Since the semi-finished goods warehouse in the entire plant was already fully automated in 2019, the renewal of the palletizing now enables the entire workflow in the company to be digitized throughout.

In the second half of 2021, another high-performance inline machine will be installed. This lays the foundation for further growth in the folding box area as well, as the fully automated 4-color machine further increases the level of productivity. She is u. a. equipped with a punching unit, with which, for example, handles for moving boxes are punched out, has a fault ejection module and camera surveillance. A prefeeder and a robot take care of the loading and disposal of this high-performance machine.

This allows Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG to produce four-colored, custom-fit, attractive folding boxes very productively in one operation.

This investment offers the opportunity to meet customer needs, such as the highest quality and capacity. In addition, energy efficiency is improved and the CO2 emissions per packaging are further reduced.

With these measures from 2020/21, the Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik is again investing more than 10 million euros in quality and productivity in order to remain the leading corrugated board company in northern Germany.
