Panther produces PoS stage for the famous blue-yellow spray can

In 2019, WD-40 expanded its range to include a new product series for everything to do with bicycles, which was prominently presented at the Eurobike show in Friedrichshafen (Germany). Since then, the company has not been able to present at any further trade fais. In order to present itself to users in households as well as to professional businesses despite of this, the manufacturer now running a campaign for the brand WD-40 Bike, particularly, the Specialist product series, in cooperation with the Panther Group. A secondary placement made of corrugated board for the PoS, developed and implemented by Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, plays an important role. It is based on an existing secondary placement element, that has been further developed to meet current requirements.

More than six decades ago, specialists at Rocket Chemical Company Inc. in California found an ingenious solution for rust and corrosion protection products for NASA. Soon after its core business in WD-40 Company Ltd., the renamed company quickly conquered markets all over the world, with cleaning and care products in the famous blue-yellow spray cans with the distinctive red cap. WD-40 maintains a branch office in Germany, among others.

The PoS element from Panther mainly picks up on the world-famous branding and the typical color scheme of WD-40.

The aim of the promotion is to draw attention to the manufacturer's innovation and to show presence in the trade. The extremely increased popularity of bicycles as an environmentally friendly and climate-protecting means of transport and transport or sports equipment in the last eighteen months has caused the number of potential customers for the care and cleaning range of WD-40 to rise by leaps and bounds. The special placement of the products of the Specialist series could not come at a better time.

 

Perfect product view combined with high resilience

The customer's specifications for Panther were, in addition to a simple and fast assembly, the high load-bearing capacity, resilience and stability of the display in order to be able to transport the goods safely and present them in stores. The resulting secondary placement can be used with or without a pallet; Locks for the use of a pallet are included. In terms of design, WD-40's aim was to equip the promotion with the highest possible recognition value and an attractive design.

The specialists at Wepoba have chosen a robust, yet filigree construction consisting of a one-piece casing, carded, one-piece trays and a towering topper in the form of the brand-typical red cap of the original spray cans.

The products presented on four tray levels can be viewed from all four sides and are therefore easy to remove. The quick assembly is achieved through several structural features: The one-piece jacket is unfolded within a second for erection. The carded trays have an attached insert to increase stability. They are inserted into the jacket without any further work steps or tools.

Despite the large viewing windows on all four sides of the display, the jacket offers the desired printing areas for product information, brand messages and design elements tailored to the target group. The comparatively small footprint of the secondary placement offers plenty of space for the new product family, and refilling is easy and convenient. After the promotion has ended, the entire display will be recycled using the waste paper cycle.
