German Packaging Award for the Panther Group

As part of the creative experience strategy, the Nuremberg-based company Staedtler has dedicated its back-to-school campaign for 2021 to the topic of "nature". The PoS staging created for this by Panther Display GmbH & Co. KG has been awarded with the German Packaging Prize in the product presentation category for its outstanding performance. Once again, the company has received an award for inspiring and extraordinary displays.

The jury found: “The display stands out with its consistent reinforcement of the brand communication in the brand’s colour and form language. The design makes customers aware of the subject area of painting. One particular highlight of the design is the tree protruding from the side, which attracts visual and tactile attention thanks to the design with a paper honeycomb rosette. The naturalness of the tree goes hand-in-hand with the consistent setting of the display as a paper-based single-material solution including the concealed corrugated cardboard pallet as a product carrier."

The jury of the largest European exhibition for everything to do with packaging under the patronage of Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, honored a total of 52 innovations from six countries in the competition for the best solutions organized by the German Packaging Institute. They are spread across all ten categories of the exhibition - from digitization to design and refinement, sustainability and economy to packaging machines and technology.

The now awarded secondary placement of Panther Display focuses on the very successful and popular coloured pencils of the Noris Colour brand. The central eye-catcher of the display is a towering tree with a three-dimensional canopy of leaves. The tree symbolizes the responsible use of Staedtler's wood, from which the pens are made. Due to the filigree paper structure of the rosette, the element appeals to several senses of the consumer: When there is a slight breeze, the honeycomb rosette moves like in the natural surroundings of a forest.

The result is convincing both through the visualization of the nature aspect and through the attractive presentation of the successful brand. The result was a display with a ½-pallet basic size, which both presents goods on euro hooks and also holds upright products in hanging trays and a floor tray. It is based on a corrugated board pallet with a cover and offers plenty of space for product presentation on up to six levels on the front and back as well as on a narrow side. A simple replenishment with the branded products is possible at any time.

On the left side of the display wall, an imaginatively designed tree grows up: its canopy is partly made of a green honeycomb rosette: to achieve the 3D effect, the rosette, which is glued on one side to the contour of the printed tree crown, is fanned out and fastened on site. This gives the tree a natural, all-round visible crown and the display has a particularly high long-range effect. With reference to the drawing pens and crayons, the display is given a print design in which hand-hatched drawings of natural motifs - earth, grass, flowers, animals, etc. - are combined with one another. The well-known logo from Staedtler is placed on the display centrally, so that it can be recognized from a distance.

As an important part of Staedtler's supply chain, Panther Display also takes on the assembly of secondary placements. In close coordination with the customer, the required quantities are set up and made available on demand. At the end of the campaign, the display made of corrugated board goes back into the material cycle and is put to a new use via the waste paper recycling process.
