Investment package for the future at Panther Packaging - New investment program with a volume of over 60 million euros

Around the Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik in Tornesch, another neighboring property has been acquired to create space for growth.

Panther Display in Wustermark is also growing rapidly. For example, a new 7b-format offset press has recently been put into production to better meet growing customer demands.

Furthermore, an additional hall with an area of approx. 11,000 m² for the co-packing of packaging and displays has been put into operation in the display and packaging park of the Panther Group in Wustermark.

Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik will provide the two new folding carton gluers installed in 2018 with fully automated logistics, and in 2020 will be equipped with robots for the supply and disposal of the machines.

In addition to the extensive investments in machinery/equipment and land, drastic investments will be made to reduce energy consumption in order to further reduce CO2 emissions. Already, the Panther Corrugated Group has significantly low energy consumption relative to production volume.

The debt-free group will finance the entire investment program from its own cash flow.

However, as in previous years, Panther's absolute focus will remain on investing in employee training.

Approximately 6 million euros will be invested annually in employee training. For example, as of September 2019, 133 apprentices will be working in 15 professions in the Group in order to be prepared for further growth in terms of quality and quantity in the personnel area.

Every employee child currently has a guaranteed apprenticeship place in the Panther Group. As a family business, Panther thus opens up future opportunities for all employee families. At the same time, numerous measures are in place to make apprenticeships at Panther attractive and to inspire young people. The training mobile, a Panther Mini classic car, is available at the plants for many trainee campaigns.

The company sees the greatest risks for the coming years in Germany's energy policy compared with other countries, as this has created a major competitive disadvantage for German companies, as well as in the ever-increasing bureaucracy in all areas.

The greatest opportunities for the Panther Group continue to be in its products themselves, as all types of corrugated board products are environmentally friendly, sustainable and recyclable, and in the course of the substitution of plastics, corrugated board products will certainly be in even greater demand in the future.

However, all investments in personnel and technology will first and foremost be made in order to continue to be a competent, agile and flexible partner for customers at the highest level and to continue the successful path in cooperation with all customers into the next generation.
