EE-, EF- and F-flute
Wepoba expands production spectrum Generating big effects with small calibers: the Panther Group's Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik in Wustermark has supplemented its product portfolio by EE- and FE-flute, as well as by F-flute. The double flutes with the smallest calibers, 2.5 and 3 mm, have come on the scene in order to provide alternatives to today's fields of application for EB- and BC-flute, as well as for heavy single-flute grades such as B- or C-flute, alternatives which in particular offer cost benefits throughout the whole logistic chain. The low material thicknesses add up to lighter, thinner packaging blanks or display constructions which result in benefits across the board, from improved use of pallet and truck capacities through to handling at the various points in logistic chains. At the same time, the double-flute combinations EE and FE offer the possibility of high-quality postprinting with attractive and brand-typical printed images.
Delicate but strong
The new double flutes meet the high technical demands placed on packaging and displays and also offer, for example, high strength for display components such as cladding or tray bases. In addition, packaging manufactured using EE- or FE-flute boasts very good properties in terms of their automation capabilities on modern high-performance packing plant.
In opting for this addition of flute types to Wepoba's production range, the Panther Group has made a pioneering decision. It is a decision which accommodates various market developments: on the one hand, the significance of the logistic properties of packaging and displays is growing, these being an important aspect for distribution costs (space requirements and weight). On the other hand, an increasing number of industrial sectors is demanding improved visual design and effect from corrugated-board packaging and P.O.S. elements. As print carriers, it is precisely the small-gauge flutes which provide the optimum prerequisites for brand-typical design and high-quality reproduction of images.
