Ed Hardy™ Display receives Superstar 2009 award for superior-look display
The magazine "display" regularly holds a competition in which currently manufactured products are judged according to the relevant criteria by a specialist jury. The "Superstar 2009" was also a challenge taken up by the Panther Group: for their competition entry known as the "Ed Hardy™ Display", the company was awarded the "Superstar Bronze" in Category 1 (short-term).
It all began with tattoos: in Los Angeles, Don Ed Hardy achieved great fame with his unusual tattoos which grace the body parts of many famous Hollywood personalities. Through Christian Audigier, who acquired a licence for HardyĆs tattoo motifs, the images were soon appearing on T-shirts, jackets, bags and shoes and the Ed Hardy™ brand became a worldwide success story. However, the potential of the tattoo-artist’s images is by no means exhausted by its use in clothing designs.
The highly unusual and very popular motifs also develop their powerful impact for Herlitz: today, spiral-bound boutique books, files or folders also feature Ed Hardy™ motifs. And these licence products are presented to perfection at the P.O.S. on a standard Panther display: the completely open display supports a die-cut shaped header, while the side headers again take up the form and colouring of the original tattoo motifs. The combination of litho-lamination for the side headers and flexo-preprint for the elegant matt-black display body also make the display an economically interesting solution. The minimally low edges of the tray bases permit optimum visibility of and access to the products.
