Additional services with digital printing
As a manufacturer and processor of corrugated board, the Panther Group places a high premium on a comprehensive range of products and services and on a broad technological base. With flexo-preprinting, flexo-direct printing and offset printing, the Group has for a long time past offered superior printing technology and finishing. Now the concern has added digital printing to its print services and thereby rounds off the spectrum of technically and economically interesting printing processes in order to fully cater to customer requirements.

The new digital machine, which prints up to six colours, can print on material up to 40 mm thick and on a width of up to 2,150 mm – over an unlimited length. This digital-printing system can process smooth, uneven or perforated surfaces equally well as panels, sheets or roll material. The system prints at resolutions of up to 360 dpi.

Flexibility and todayís printing speeds, both features of digital printing, make this process ideal for the production of both small-lot and extra-small-scale series for trade-fair and listing-presentation samples. The printed images required by customers can be produced within the shortest periods of time and in the necessary quantities. The increasing diversity of materials in display production or in the manufacture of P.O.S. materials is easily coped with by the digital printing machine; it prints not only on corrugated board and solid board, but also on plastic surfaces such as PET or PVC, polystyrol or even on perforated plates, textiles or glass, just to mention a few examples.

The addition to the machine park of a digital printing machine puts Panther Packaging in a position to provide customers with advice which is independent of any one printing process – the focus of attention for the job in hand is the customerís ultimate objective. Implementation follows with the most suitable process – in both economic and technical terms.

The perfect finishing touch for the new digital printing service is provided by the new plotter: from printing through to cutting, the complete technical line is there in order to satisfy even the most short-term individual customer requirements for unusual packaging or displays featuring demanding, complex contours. The plotter, which is also fitted with an optical registration system, permits precise contour cutting of the most diverse materials. Digital cutting means doing away with the costly and time-consuming production of cutting dies and also freedom in respect of requisite shapes and contours. Digital production shortens the production process and provides more scope for creativity.

With this package made up of a digital printing machine and further processing, the Panther Group can also meet short-term customer requirements – for example for short-term organisation of participation in trade fairs or other special activities – with the customary high standards of quality.
